Rules & Resolution

If exactly 7 justices vote in favor of the petitioner (Donald Trump) in Donald J. Trump, et al., v. V.O.S. Selections, Inc., then the market resolves to Yes.

Additional Conditions

A justice is counted as voting in favor of the petitioner only if, according to the Court's final action, that justice supported a judgment that grants some or all relief requested by the petitioner. The number of votes "for the petitioner" is the number of justices who concurred in a judgment of the Court in favor of the petitioner or dissented from the judgment against the petitioner. A justice must participate in the case and take a position aligned with granting relief to the petitioner for their vote to count. If the petitioner prevails in the Court's final judgment, count all justices who joined the majority opinion, wrote or joined concurring opinions, or concurred in the judgment only. A justice who concurs in part and dissents in part will count only if the concurring portion includes a vote to grant the petitioner some relief.
